A Lexicon for the 21st Century

Authoritarian Personality: A jerk.

Authoritative: Meaningless adjective applied to the latest writing on a subject.

Authority: The ability to kick someone and make him think you're doing him a favor.

Autism: A condition which holds a person back from concealing his real concerns as well as most of us do.

Autonomy: Condition that was prized until terribly sensitive people discovered how terribly alienating it was.

Autopsy: A report by a physician on the causes of death, which in fifty-six percent of television murders is faked or tampered with.

Avarice: A mental disorder which has been instituted as the engine of progress.

Avatar: Politician who is about to resuscitate an old practice in a hideous new form.

Avenger: An office sought by many, never from decent motive.

Aversion Therapy: The only therapy parents were aware of till about 1950.
