Re: Potpourri of August 20, 2007

You - and the word you use to describe yourself is so right - Duffer, are correct about the over and over TV fund raising drives for public TV - just boring boring boring junk shown over and over and over

I can't really believe that anyone watches - but they must - the money flows in which says something about those with money just as the popular new movies say something about the people involved in watching them - ah well, so much for the Great American Experiment in Developing Democracy

But back to TV and their production of so few new shows the rest of the year - but not a year, surely not for so many weeks and months go to fund raising

So why not return to the early days of TV

Just be on the air a few evenings a week with the few new showings offered

Then Cut the Staff in half so more money goes to those few new shows or to purchasing the well made (but hardly any more lately) BBC programs

PS  Keep also two hours of kids shows in the morning.  They don't mind re-watching over and over the shows on hand all ready at WGBH
