I suppose that I should join in congratulating the Boston Red Sox on their triumph. But, party pooper that I am, I must admit that I have never been fond of that team.
My team was the Boston Braves. Oh! You don’t remember that the Braves were in Boston at one time? Yes! It was their removal to L.A., and, then, later to Atlanta, that convinced me that baseball, after all, was only a business. What disillusionment for a young kid!
Where did the Braves play? Why at their own ball park. Braves Field is now the site of several Boston University high rise dormitories.
